Normal Operations Checklists

Cautions & Notes

Aborted Start - ENG MASTER OFF, Dry crank 30 s then 30 s rest. Engines started in pairs (1 & 2, then 3 & 4) per current Airbus A340 SOP. Air Canada A340s use CFM56-5C4 engines.
Taxi – Brake check at first movement “Brakes checked, pressure ___”.
Landing – Reverse idle at 60 kt. Speed brake auto-deploy on touchdown. ECAM LDG MEMO must show all blue (LDG GEAR DN, SIGNS ON, CABIN READY, SPLRS ARM, FLAPS LDG).

Quick‑Reference Flap / Speed Schedule (A340‑300)

Notes:
  • CONF 2* (Flap Load Relief): Slats 20° / Flaps 8° at speeds above 196 kt (VFE 205 kt)
  • VLE / VLO: 250 kt / M.55
  • Takeoff: CONF 1+F, 2, or 3 - Landing: CONF 3 or FULL
