Montreal to Edinburgh

VACA is thrilled to announce the launch of our newest Scottish destination: Edinburgh! Our virtual inaugural flight has successfully arrived this evening, marking our first service to Scotland’s historic capital and further expanding our transatlantic network from Montreal.

Edinburgh offers virtual pilots an exciting new destination steeped in history and culture. From the medieval Old Town to the elegant Georgian New Town, this UNESCO World Heritage site provides a stunning backdrop for approach and landing. Whether pilots are interested in exploring Scotland’s historic castles, vibrant arts scene, or simply enjoying the unique challenge of flying into this picturesque Scottish capital, this route offers an exceptional virtual flying experience.

This connection brings together two cities celebrated for their history, creativity, and cultural vitality, creating fresh opportunities for virtual pilots to explore new destinations and flight planning scenarios.

Route Details

Montreal to Edinburgh is the latest addition to our growing European network this summer, joining our recently launched Porto, Prague, and Naples routes in expanding VACA’s virtual presence across Europe.

Toronto to Dubai Route Suspension

Due to the ongoing security situation in the Middle East, Virtual Air Canada is temporarily suspending service between Toronto Pearson (CYYZ) and Dubai International Airport (OMDB), effective immediately.

Pilots scheduled for these flights are advised to check the Pilot Portal for affected bookings and consider alternative route assignments during this period. The situation will be continuously monitored, and service will resume as soon as conditions permit.

Toronto to Prague (Summer 2025)

VACA is thrilled to announce the addition of Prague to our growing European network! Following the real-world Air Canada’s route expansion, we’ve integrated these exciting new flights into our virtual operations beginning June 2025.

Prague represents our latest European destination, offering virtual pilots the opportunity to fly into one of Central Europe’s most picturesque cities. With its stunning medieval architecture, charming cobblestone streets, and iconic Charles Bridge, this route provides a visually rewarding approach and landing experience.

This expansion is part of our summer 2025 European growth strategy, which also includes new service to Porto, Naples, and the return of our Ottawa-London Heathrow route.

Route Details

Virtual pilots will operate these routes using our Airbus A330-300 fleet. The transcontinental journey offers an excellent opportunity to practice long-haul procedures and oceanic navigation. Be sure to check SimBrief for optimal flight planning on this exciting new route!

Montreal to Porto (Summer 2025)

Our virtual flight operations are expanding to Portugal! Starting June 2025, VACA pilots can now fly between Montreal and Porto, offering a unique transatlantic experience to this charming Portuguese destination.

Porto presents an exciting challenge for virtual pilots with its coastal approach and varied weather patterns. This historical city, known for its stunning riverside setting and famous Port wine cellars, adds diversity to our European route network and creates new opportunities for interesting flight planning scenarios.

The seasonal route will operate through summer and early fall, providing approximately four months to experience this beautiful destination.

This route offers virtual pilots the perfect balance of transatlantic flying with a moderate flight time of approximately 7 hours. For those looking to improve their North Atlantic Track procedures or practice European approach techniques, this route provides an excellent training opportunity.

Montreal to Naples (Summer 2025)

VACA is delighted to announce our newest European destination: Naples, Italy! Our virtual inaugural flight touched down this morning, marking our first service to Naples and our fourth non-stop connection between our virtual Canadian network and Italy.

Naples serves as the perfect gateway to Southern Italy’s treasures, including the stunning Amalfi Coast and the historical ruins of Pompeii. This expansion from our growing Montreal hub enhances our Mediterranean presence and provides virtual pilots with a scenic and challenging new destination.

Route Details

Virtual pilots will operate these routes using our Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet, offering excellent opportunities to practice long-haul operations and Mediterranean approach procedures. The approximately 8-hour journey provides an ideal balance of transatlantic flying and European arrival challenges.
