Merging Two Accounts

It happens: you sign up once with a personal email, forget about it, and later register again with a different address. The result is two separate vAMSYS accounts with your hours and flights split between them. vAMSYS lets you fix this yourself. The Merge User Accounts tool in your account settings combines two accounts into one.
Merging cannot be undone. The secondary account is permanently deleted once the merge completes. Before you start, make sure you are logged in to the account you want to keep.

What Gets Merged

Network IDs

Your VATSIM and IVAO IDs are combined onto the surviving account

Staff Status

Staff roles you hold across other virtual airlines on vAMSYS carry over

Bookings & PIREPs

Your bookings and PIREPs are included, though vAMSYS notes that individual VAs can be exceptions

Account Settings

Other profile settings stored on your vAMSYS account are combined
vAMSYS applies “VA exceptions” to the bookings and it transfers, so some records may not follow the merge. Check your logbook once the merge finishes and contact staff if something looks off.

Which Account Survives

This is the part people get backwards, so it is worth stating plainly:
The account you are logged into stays. The account whose email address you type into the form is merged into it and then deleted. If you want to keep Account A, log in to Account A and enter Account B’s email address.

How to Merge

1

Log in to the account you want to keep

Sign in to the Pilot Portal using the account you want to remain active. If you are already signed in with the other account, log out first.
2

Open your vAMSYS account settings

  1. Click on the User Dropdown in the top-right corner
  2. Select “My vAMSYS Account”
You can also go straight to auth.vamsys.io/user/settings.
3

Find the Merge User Accounts section

Scroll down the settings page to the Merge User Accounts panel.
4

Enter the secondary account's email

Type the email address of the account you want to merge in and delete into the Email of the Secondary Account field.
5

Confirm the direction, then merge

Double-check that the email you entered belongs to the account you are willing to lose, then click Merge Accounts.
6

Verify the result

Review your hours, bookings, PIREPs, and Network IDs on the surviving account to confirm everything came across.

After Merging

  • Check your Pilot ID. Confirm your Pilot ID registration points at the account that survived the merge.
  • Rank and hours. If your rank or totals look wrong afterward, review the Rank Transfer page or reach out to staff.
  • This affects every VA on vAMSYS. Merging happens at the vAMSYS account level, not just within Virtual Air Canada. Any other virtual airlines you fly for on vAMSYS are affected too.

Troubleshooting

Make sure you are entering the exact address the secondary account was registered with, not an alias or a forwarding address. If you are unsure which address was used, contact support before trying again.
You do not need to log in to the secondary account to merge it, only its email address. If you cannot remember the address at all, contact support so staff can help identify the duplicate.
vAMSYS applies VA exceptions when transferring flight records, so some entries may not carry over automatically. Contact support with both email addresses and the flights you are missing.
Merging is permanent and the secondary account has already been deleted. Contact support as soon as possible with both email addresses so staff can review what can be recovered.
