Accepted Liveries
Guidelines for approved liveries when flying with Virtual Air Canada Airline
When flying for Virtual Air Canada Airline, pilots must use appropriate liveries that align with our standards. This page outlines our policy on acceptable aircraft liveries.
Approved Liveries
Official Air Canada Liveries
- All Air Canada liveries that reflect real-life operations are approved
- Aircraft must display accurate registration numbers that match real-world Air Canada fleet
- Current and historical Air Canada livery schemes are permitted as long as they accurately represent actual Air Canada aircraft
Air Canada Express/Rouge Liveries
- Official Air Canada Express (Jazz) liveries are approved for regional operations
- Air Canada Rouge liveries are approved for Rouge-designated routes
- Registration numbers should match real-world aircraft where possible
Air Canada Cargo Liveries
For Air Canada Cargo operations, the following livery options are acceptable:
- Official Air Canada Cargo Liveries: Dedicated cargo liveries when available
- Regular Air Canada Passenger Liveries: Since dedicated Air Canada Cargo liveries are limited, regular Air Canada passenger operation liveries are fully accepted for cargo flights
- Fictional Air Canada Cargo Liveries: Custom cargo-themed liveries that maintain Air Canada branding
Suggested Air Canada Cargo Liveries
When available, these community-created cargo liveries are recommended:
- X-Plane: Air Canada Cargo New Livery - Community cargo livery for X-Plane aircraft
- MSFS PMDG 777F: Air Canada Cargo - Dedicated 777F cargo livery
- MSFS iniBuilds A300: Air Canada Cargo C-GHLL - A300-600F cargo livery
Cargo Livery Flexibility
Due to the limited availability of dedicated Air Canada Cargo liveries in the simulation community, pilots flying cargo operations may use any approved Air Canada passenger livery without restriction. This ensures pilots can operate cargo flights regardless of livery availability while maintaining our branding standards.
Special and Fictional Liveries
Virtual Air Canada Airline permits certain special liveries under these conditions:
- Special Event Liveries: Liveries representing real Air Canada, but are special events themed (like Pride Month celebrations) are permitted
- Anniversary Liveries: Historical or commemorative Air Canada liveries are acceptable
- Fictional Special Liveries: Fictional Air Canada-themed liveries are acceptable if they:
- Maintain Air Canada’s primary branding elements
- Use appropriate Air Canada color schemes
- Are designed with professional quality
- Represent plausible special events or promotions Air Canada might actually use
Prohibited Liveries
The following liveries are not permitted for Virtual Air Canada Airline operations:
- Default simulator aircraft liveries without Air Canada branding
- Liveries from other airlines or operators
- Generic or fictional liveries that do not represent Air Canada
- Low-quality or inappropriate livery designs
Important: Flight Validation
Flights operated with unapproved liveries will be rejected during the validation process. This means:
- No flight hours will be credited to your pilot record
- No route points will be awarded
- The flight will not count toward rank progression
Always ensure you are using an approved Air Canada or Air Canada-themed livery before conducting operations.
