> Follow vACA cabin operations procedures for door arming, passenger briefings, sterile cockpit, and emergency protocols

# Cabin Operations

This section outlines the standard procedures for cabin operations at Virtual Air Canada Airline.

## Door Arming & Security

* **Door Arming**: Cross-check pairs (L1/R1, etc.) after passenger boarding is complete
* **Security Search**: Required on aircraft's first flight of the day and after security threat level Yellow+
* All doors must be properly secured before taxi

## Passenger Briefings

All flights must include safety demonstrations that cover:

* Seat belt usage and requirements
* Emergency exit locations and operation
* Electronic device policy
* No-smoking policy
* Oxygen mask procedures (when applicable)
* Life vest location and usage (when applicable)

The safety demonstration may be conducted via video or performed live by cabin crew.

## Cabin Secure Calls

The cabin must be secured and reported to the flight deck:

* **Completed by 3 minutes before push-back**
* Confirmed prior to takeoff
* Reconfirmed after go-around if applicable

## Seat-belt Sign Operation

| Phase             | Seat-belt Sign | Cabin Call                           |
| ----------------- | -------------- | ------------------------------------ |
| Taxi-out          | ON             | "Cabin secure"                       |
| Cruise smooth     | OFF            | -                                    |
| Light turbulence | ON | "Cabin crew, be seated" |
| Severe turbulence | ON | "Cabin crew, take seats IMMEDIATELY" |

## Sterile Cockpit Periods

Cabin crew must observe sterile cockpit procedures during:

* Taxi
* Takeoff and climb below 10,000 ft
* Approach and landing below 10,000 ft

During these periods, only safety-critical communication is permitted with the flight deck.

## Emergency Procedures

In the event of an emergency, cabin crew should:

1. Secure themselves in nearest available seats
2. Prepare the cabin for emergency landing/ditching if time permits
3. Review emergency evacuation procedures
4. Assist passengers with special needs
5. Direct evacuation if necessary, ensuring all passengers leave the aircraft

## Cabin Service Standards

While not a safety requirement, cabin service should mirror Air Canada standards where possible:

* **Short-Haul** (less than 2 hours): Beverage service, light snack
* **Medium-Haul** (2-4 hours): Beverage service, meal service
* **Long-Haul** (more than 4 hours): Multiple meal services, mid-flight snacks, pre-arrival service

## Communication with Flight Deck

* Use interphone for routine communications
* Use established phrases for emergency communications
* Inform flight deck of any unusual situations in the cabin
